Cultivating a Cleaner Community: Our Day on the Moline Riverfront

It’s crazy how much trash you notice the second you actually start looking for it. When you’re just walking the Moline River Walk, it looks great, but once you grab a trash bag, you realize how much is hiding in plain sight.

For the first official Farmers Market Club cleanup, there were only four of us out there, but we managed to haul away a massive amount of garbage. It was a solid reminder that you don't need a huge crowd to make a dent. Every bit counts.

We also wanted to give a quick thank you to everyone who bought something from the shop recently. We put $1 from every item sold toward these cleanups, and last month’s funds bought the exact trash pickers we used for this event. Your support is literally cleaning up our local spaces.

There is still plenty of work left to do out there, but we will definitely be back.

We’re planning to hit another spot somewhere in the Quad Cities next month. Keep an eye out for the details, and we'd love to have you out there with us next time.
