Downtown Moline Cleanup!

The John Deere Classic is coming to Moline. Xstream Cleanup alongside the City of Moline put on a trash pickup to help the city look its best for the tourism that was to come.

Six of us headed downtown and honestly weren't sure we'd even fill our trash bags. Downtown looked decent enough at first glance. But once you slow down and actually look, you start seeing it everywhere. Cigarette butts were the big one. Hundreds of them tucked into curbs, scattered across sidewalks, piled up in corners people walk past every day. We filled both bags and then some.

It's easy to overlook until you're the one bent over picking it up.

It got us thinking. We don't want this to be a one-time thing. We're working on putting together a monthly cleanup in the area and we'd love to have more people join us. Stay tuned to Club Updates for details.
